Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Burner you represent that you are 18 or older and able to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

You're responsible for your account, for keeping your password secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.

3. How the game works

Burner is a fantasy sports game. Each NFL player may be started only once per season per team, and leagues may be run in points or guillotine formats. Leagues are organized by commissioners and the managers who join them. We may add, change, or remove features, scoring rules, or formats over time.

Burner Football is a free-to-play game with an optional paid membership (below). It does not involve buying entries, wagering, or cash prizes. Any league fees, dues, or prizes arranged privately between league members are solely between those members and not provided, managed, or endorsed by us.

4. Premium membership, billing & cancellation

Some features require a paid “Premium” membership. Premium is billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. Your subscription auto-renews at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; your Premium access continues until the end of the current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated. We may change Premium pricing or features with reasonable notice; changes apply to the next billing cycle.

One Premium membership applies across our products (Burner Football and Burner Golf) under the same email. We do not store your full payment card details; payments are handled by Stripe under their terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law, or infringe others' rights, using the Service;
• harass, abuse, or post hateful, obscene, or threatening content (including team names, mottos, logos, or chat);
• cheat, exploit bugs, manipulate scoring, or use bots/scrapers against the Service;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you're not authorized to; or
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as team names, league branding, and chat messages). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content to operate and improve the Service. You're responsible for your content and for having the rights to any logos or images you upload.

7. AI-generated content

Some features use artificial intelligence to generate text and recommendations (for example weekly recaps and lineup suggestions) from your league data. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete and is provided for entertainment and convenience only — it is not professional advice, and lineup suggestions don't guarantee any result. You're responsible for your own roster decisions.

8. Third-party data & trademarks

Player, schedule, and statistics data is sourced from third parties and may be delayed or inaccurate. Burner is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League (NFL), its teams, or any players. All third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and the Burner name and logos, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service per these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service without permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data (including scores and projections) will be accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Burner Fantasy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Burner Fantasy from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll take reasonable steps to notify you (such as by email or in-app notice). Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where prohibited by law.
